DEFINITION

Web 2.0 is a common term referring to web applications that are designed to facilitate information sharing, interoperability, self administered page design and user collaboration and communication.

EXAMPLES

There are an ever growing number of examples for Web 2.0. Some have benefited from massive user number growth and popularity increases. Some of the more common examples of Web 2.0 include:

Facebook - social networking site with customizable applications.

Wikipedia - internet based encyclopedia whose entries are suggested and edited by anyone.

MySpace - a social networking site similar to Facebook.

YouTube - network site with videos made and posted by the general public.

Twitter - short conversational, type posted by people to communicate with others.
